Final Still Image Story

The Product      So this is my final version of the still image project. There's not much to say other than the changes I made to it since the last try. I only changed a few things, the biggest one being the sections where Emmy and Josh are talking. I took your advice and kept a picture of them on the left side as the sequences of images flashed by. I also changed the framing of a few of the pictures that I didn't love and added lower thirds and a title slide. My Thoughts      Overall I do like my story, however, I don't think that it correlated well to still images since I couldn't take any actual relevant pictures because of quarantine. I think it would've been much more successful if I had pictures of them in the actual job of SportsLink because it would've translated better into just a visual story. But I do think the changes I made since the rough draft did help the story come together better. I don't like the lower thirds over Emmy an...

Still Image

The Video My Thoughts? So far, I think it's going alright. I don't really love it and I feel like I need some transitions between some of the images but I couldn't settle on any that I liked so I left them blank. I'd also like to add some actual pictures of my own but not sure if that'll work too well with quarantines. And I feel like I need some more images, a few of them feel a little long. However, I do like a majority of the pictures I have and feel they fit as well as I can with this story during quarantine.

My Mashup

The Mashup My mashup is a mix of the two most recent Spiderman movies, Far From Home and Homecoming. I decided to mix the two as if they were only one. The hardest thing I had to deal with was the audio having some loud music in it but I made it work. I like the way it came out, particularly the ending with Peter instead of just ending with graphics.  Fair Use This mashup follows fair use rules because I'm using it for educational purposes. I have no intentions of making money off of this edit, so the benefit is more than commercial. I've also used only a small portion of the original works, sticking only to what was in the trailers of the two movies. Lastly, this doesn't diminish the value of the original because it's not bashing it or the Marvel in any way.

Podcast

My Podcast My podcast was originally going to be about the new baseball rules, however my experts had to cancel last minute. Instead I did my project on SportsLink, the production club at High Point University. Putting the podcast together was difficult because I had a lot of good material that I wanted to include but wouldn't fit into the two minute requirement. But here's the final product,

Audio Components

The Music I chose the song Living in the Country by The Spectacular Fantastic. Baseball boys are known for liking country music, so this song is something I feel would be playing at a practice or tournament. The Noise My noise is just the loud air conditioner in my room. You can clearly hear it at the beginning and end when I'm not talking, but it's still audible during my speaking. Without the Noise This is my edit without the noise. I will admit removing the worst of the fan does make my voice sound a little quieter than I'd like but I guess its better than the fan. However, if you're smart and actually pay attention when you record real audio you won't need to edit annoying noises out of it. Audio Without Effects So this is my audio before I've done any effects on it. It's just some random audio from my multiple takes at the voice over for my podcast. Audio With Effects This is my audio with effects on it. I went with the p...

Person on the Street

Introduction  For this project, I posed the question, who is your favorite baseball player. This relates to all three of my possible topics about baseball. When cutting the audio together, I was careful to not cut off words in the middle and being careful to keep the audio levels between clips similar, so that it's not jarring when listened consecutively. I also crossed the audio over for a few frames so that they merged together better. The cuts I did make in the middle of people's sentences don't sound like they've been cut because they've been cut pretty seamlessly.

Audio Story Ideas

Story Ideas Baseball:  No Longer a Men's World? This topic would be most related to the hiring of Alyssa Nakken by the San Francisco Giants. I would pose the overarching question of:  Do you think women should be heavily involved with the MLB? I'd follow up with how women might affect the industry if they're included. Two experts I could use could include: any college level coach, college level players, and possibly minor league or unaffiliated league coaches and players. Arguably, the best set-up would include one of each because each has a unique opinion by their current standing in the system. At this point, I already know most of the information about the specific situation with Alyssa including: why The Giants hired her, what The Giants want to use her for, and the public response to her hiring. However, I think it could be really interesting to get even more opinions from lower levels to see if the system is likely to include more women. It would also be interest...
